I am the third fastest British 110m hurdler of all time following a recent a personal best time of 13.16 at the 2014 European Championships. This was a great race and is probably my best achievement in athletics so far, alongside finishing 4th in 2009 at the Berlin World Championships. What makes the latter occasion so memorable to me was that I was a late addition to the GB and NI team, so nobody expected a British hurdler in the final, let alone a last minute entrant like myself.
It just goes to show that anything is possible, especially if you believe.
I haven’t always been a high-hurdler; I began my athletics career as a decathlete but later decided to focus entirely on the 110m hurdles. I used to be coached by former Gladiators referee John Anderson, who has always been a major influence on my career.
